Between September 2007 and May 2008, children from schools and kindergartens in selected regions in Italy, Estonia, Cyprus, Belgium, Sweden, Hungary, Germany, and Spain were asked to participate in the baseline study. These issues are the focus of IDEFICS (Identification and prevention of dietary- and lifestyle-induced health effects in children and infants), an Integrated Project within the 6th framework program of the European Union.
